about

Folks songs have been part of my life ever since I can remember. Some of my earliest recollections are singing songs about the moon, the rain, breakfast, and going to bed. For me, music has a unique ability to transform ordinary things into special things - the mundance into the extraordinary.

This song cycle is all about exploring that further. Each song roughly represents an hour of the day. The CD begins at dawn and ends at dusk. As we travel through the day, we learn to perceive familiar objects and situations in a new light, infusing joy and a sense of mystery into the everyday experience.

The lyrics are almost all classic poetry (with the exception of Dona Nobis Pacem) and are representive of some of my favorite poets: Emily Dickinson, Christina Rossetti, and Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, to name three.

I invite you to join me on this musical journey!
