about

This tune took its inspiration from the traditional French deux-temps bourrée, both in its melody and overall structure. While the melody may be harmonized with chords (see Jubilate Tune Book) it also works equally well over a drone: indeed, I wrote this tune specifically for the hurdy gurdy. The melody also reveals a two part structure: AABB, typical of a dance from this time.
